Solid Wood Homes is the affordable housing option that is stronger, longer lasting housing option than modular homes. They are competitively priced for affordable housing and built to become a family's long-lasting asset or ideal for workforce housing in communities.

Our technology is simple, yet more energy efficient, sustainable and quicker to build: it's solid wood. Our storm-proof wall system consists of 8" thick solid wood that is visible to the interior and exterior, as opposed to a stick-built, cavity type system.

Solid Wood Homes are perfect in urban or rural settings. They can be finished with a lap-sided primed for painting or traditional log look to give you the look and feel you want.

  • Affordable:
  • Solid Wood Homes are affordable. Walls are pre-stacked at the plant, resulting in a more efficient process. The average price for a 1,100 to 1,400 square foot Solid Wood Home with three to four bedrooms with a move-in cost that is less than $100,000.

  • Durable:
  • Solid Wood Homes are all wood. They are constructed of milled log courses, then the exterior is finished to either a lap-sided or a traditional look. When you build a solid wood home, you get the time-tested strength, durability, and longevity of a traditional log home. Nothing looks, feels, or smells better than a home built out of solid wood. Each home is designed and built to withstand high winds with eight-inch thick solid wood walls, and windows and doors specified to withstand winds of 140 mph. Solid Wood Homes will significantly outlast stick-built and vinyl-sided houses. Some solid wood constructed homes date back hundreds of years here in America. In Europe, solid wood homes dating back 800 years are still in use. The Lakeshore

  • Simple:
  • A Solid Wood Home wall system is comprised of 6” x 8” solid wood timbers that are pre-stacked at our plant and raised on site. Pre-constructed walls can be assembled in approximately 4-6 hours and completely dried-in in just two to three days.

  • Energy Efficient:
  • The natural insulating properties of solid wood walls offer increased energy efficiency and lower heating and cooling costs. With eight-inch thick timber walls, additional insulation is not needed, as the thermal mass properties of solid walls outperform insulated wood framed houses. A study was conducted by the National Bureau of Standards for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Energy to determine the effects of thermal mass on a building’s energy consumption. The results show a savings of approximately 45 percent in heating costs and 24 percent in cooling costs for a solid wood home over a stick frame home.

  • Green:
  • Solid Wood Homes utilize renewable resources and are energy efficient; thereby improving the way that homes and home building sites use energy and materials to reduce impacts on human health and the environment. The pine trees we cut for our homes come from sustainable forests that are harvested every 20-25 years. The Forestry Commission notes that growing trees consume more carbon dioxide and release more oxygen versus old mature trees.
